I agree with your input, all of us have lost money, time and a lot of effort scrambling to get ready to file.
what i feel is that they realized that they will be getting only $1000 * 200 k in july and that they will be getting $2000 * 200k when they make the dates current later on. the difference is huge , now that CIR is dead and they cant raise the $4.5 billion they said for border protection
As to what we have spent on medical reports , tickets , lawyers etc etc, they do not care

I've always been able to negotiate pay details for a job offer without actually disclosing my current pay. I let the recruiter come up with a number based on the role and living area and then provide feedback based on whether I was expecting higher number or was ok to proceed with the offer.
As others have mentioned the market is not good or even ok. Can you believe more than half million jobs were cut in just Jan 2009 alone?
So please do consider the pros and cons. My company did announce layoff recently and someone I know dearly lost their job. I managed to survive this round but would have gladly taken a pay cut if it meant ppl wouldnt lose their job.

A couple of years back, my wife, who was on OPT back then moved from OH to TN. All she had to do was to give the written test in TN to get the TN license.
Also, from my past experiences, I can suggest you to try again by going to a different DMA. Speak to the manager, if possible and reason with him/her. Good luck!
Actually, I took all my documents and initially I was issued Maryland driver's license then he saw this note and called his supervisor and his supervisor cancelled Maryland Driver's license and gave me back Ohio driver's license. May be its matter of whether someone looks your ohio driver's license carefully or not. but bottomline now, I am not able to get Maryland driver's license.
Should I goto different DMA? is it illegal if someone gave me Maryland license even though there is "non renewable/non transferable" written?

My case was rejected with incorrect fee as reason. But my lawyer claims that the rejection packet did not have the original checks. So, they don't know whose fault it is. Any one with similar issue ?

When i went to Mumbai last december i got my H1B stamped. while coming to US i showed the POE my H1B stamped visa he asked me for Advanced parol document and i was Parolled.When i asked him i have a H1B stamped in my passport why do i need to be parolled. He answered AP has a higher preference than H1B.
the bottom line is " H1B stamping will not be considered for your entry". Its just a stamp for your satisfaction.
I am not going to stamp my H1B again. 18 months back when i came from Vancouver Canada the POE let me in by AP not by H1B visa. I asked him about my valid H1B and the POE told me you can enter using either one but we prefer AP.
If you are a local from mumbai then its okay to attend a interview and get stamped. They don't ask much in my interview. In my last interview they asked me in the picture you have a mouthstach and now you are clean shaven. So that is the level of questions asked at the interview. Its just 2-3 hours of work or maybe half a day if you wish to do it.
One more proble i went through at mumbai consulte, The dates were posted 1 week in advance and then a local person has to go and submit the document to the consulate. the FEDEX from US to India would be costing around 68 to 150 dollars and it needs to be reached within 1-2 days (i.e. 3 days before the interview). While I was out, the office of Congress called my home last night in regards to the email i sent them a month ago about the GC retrogression and H1B shortage. They asked me to return their call, I hold off calling them back because I'm confused of what to say, the thing is i don't want to disclose where I work (don't want to get my company involved). But really I am not sure what they have called me for given that email i sent them. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Educate them a bit about the long delays in the green card process and seek an appointment with them so that you can discuss the issues in person. As soon as you seek an appointment, get in touch with IV. (varsha at immigrationvoioce.org and sanjay at immigrationvoice.org )and they will guide you for the meeting.
These are good signs that the office wants to discuss your concerns. Make use of the opportunity and help this community and yourself by following it up. Dear "colleagues in faith" :-) There is a rule in life - if you want something and beg for it, you most probably will not get it. You have to fight and find a (legal) way to get it. This is the way the American Anglo-Saxon population mixed with smart Jews and other hard working nations achieved economical and political power over the last centuries. Not by begging for rights and being scared of people with different opinion.
These people who are against the uncontrolled immigration have their point. This process has to be controlled or the USA would become just another "developing" country. However, we are talking about something else. We are talking about rules set by the US government. When most of us came in this country years ago, we knew the rules and we expected those rules to be followed. If a government agency keeps my LC certification for years without processing it and even without indicating when it would be processed, then the government is not following those rules. And it is my right to know why is that. If I honestly pay my taxes and follow the laws of this country, I expect the government of the very same country to fulfill its obligations to me and (in particular) to process my application in a reasonable time and by following the current laws. If I do not qualify - OK, I will "pack back". But I want to know that, not to be kept in the dark.
This is what should be the main goal of the "volunteers" of this forum or organization (whatever) - fairness and following the rules by the government. If the immigration agency is a bunch of people incapable to sort out their problems, then they have to be replaced and problems solved quickly and efficiently. Excuses like "no money, understaffing" do not work because we throw $$$ in lawyers laps - part of this money can be easily used by the government for "overstaffing".
I see that some people got annoyed of my opinion but again, they should not forget that the issue we discuss concerns 350,000 highly qualified professionals who support the economy of this country. The opponents from numbersusa etc do not represent all Americans and most people are not against this king of immigration, if properly regulated. They just have to be properly informed.
In addition, do not be afraid to voice your opinion if you think you are right and if you do not hide something. Then people will respect you.

If you have I140 cleared from company A you can use Priority date if you change Job and apply fresh GC from Company B in any catergory.
How will this change if the new legislation/amendment that are discussed passes.

I would recommend you take up the new job and apply under the point based system. Right now they have 140K for EB categories and it will go down to 90K. So even if you keep your PD, you case will be retrogressed further.

But I did have a valid H1B stamp in my passport at the time of entry......
You should confirm with your attorney as to if you will be able to maintain H1 status after entering on AP if you do not have a valid stamp...not sure about that......

Most MS's have a fixed number of courses; some require thesis. You can complete them at your pace as long as the courses are offered at a time that fits your work schedule.
Ph D depends on major and deptt. Some majors require lot of work. The normal components of Ph D are courses, general exam, proposal, proposal defense and dissertation defense. Course work varies from school to school. There are very good schools with no course requirement. Proposal can get very intensive and requires full-time effort.

Go ahead and start the process if the company is willing to do it. Ultimately, the DOL, not the employer, will decide whether to deny the LC, certify it or sit on it for 5 years before certifying it.
