Sure you can. What you can't do is grab stuff and assume that it does the right thing without checking it for yourself. That's equally true for software developed in house, or developed by subcontractors or commercial partners. It has little at all to do with public vs. private source code.

Just updated�Now having a problem with people hearing me. If i use speaker phone they can hear me just fine. I have done a voice memo, and it sounds like I'm being recorded at half volume. Anyone else having this problem :mad:

Granted all of the issues everyone has had with the iPhone 4 over the past year (death grip/Antennagate, etc), I doubt that colour is going to be the least of their concerns.Not to be nit-picky, but "death grip" was "Antennagate" -- what's the "etc" part you mean? It's like you wanted to create a list of Apple problems, so you mentioned the one biggee TWO DIFFERNT WAYS and then stuck on "etc" to make is seem like oddles and oddles of problems ... Like we wouldn't notice! Ha! :D didn't fool me!

I would love to have a new wireless Mighty Mouse but I already have the original. I might just wait until I get a new Mac to get one.
For some reason, I still hear many people complaining about this. The complaints will more than likely come from the fact of the lack of a "real" right-click.:rolleyes:

Sure we are all making jokes about Sheen and his antics. Lets not forget 2 other notable comedians that were huge drug users that showed warning signs, Chris Farley and John Belushi. Sheen is in huge denial and will most likely kill himself at some point.
It's really just sad that he's doing this, and that nobody is trying to stop him, from self destructing. Regardless of what he says or does and how comical all of this may seem to the whole world it's really a terrible thing to watch.
He's completely lost his mind and his kids now. The longer he keeps this up the more he may loose. If this was your best friend or a good family member you would try to stop them from doing this and get them the help they need.
Anyone else who did something like this would end up in jail, or a mental ward and would never work again. He's put many people out of work, and he thinks that he deserves to get paid for all the episodes he's not going to make? His justifications for wanting money are obviously for his expensive drug habit, and lifestyle.
We've lost many good actors and entertainers to drugs and to overindulgence. Not to mention this is what we're bombarded with on a daily basis in music videos, and pop TV. This is the end result of that party lifestyle. It's sad to see, and it's just not funny. I feel really bad for him.
It would be nice if his family would round him up and get him some help before something truly terrible happens.

One of my mates in Taiwan actually got a white conversion kit for his iPhone4. I took a look last week and was actually dissapointed. It looks kind of cheap & gimmicky. And I don't believe that's related to the quality of the conversion. This was performed using genuine apple components and in that respect the fit and finish was perfect.

Wouldn't it be helpful to see a Gmail-style snippet of your new emails visible when you unlock your phone? Or possibly a small calendar display so you can see at a glance that there's a meeting you're booked into later? I guess it might be difficult to integrate these things without dramatically reducing the space visible for apps but I can imagine a lot of people having a use for this kind of functionality and Apple is denying people the choice at the moment.
I think it may be useful for the lock screen. For home screen I don't think it's much more effective than just launching separate apps to look at mail or calendar.
Anyway, I don't think that it's bad to have widgets or customization, I just think that it's not that important. It will make iOS better, but only a tiny bit better, it won't be any huge step forward.

For example, if I run Word on PC and click open file, then it will show me the whole filesystem with thousands of browseable folders, but only few of them actually contain any Word documents. Ideally, what I should be able to see instead is list of all Word documents on my computer and all connected devices in a very organized way that makes it easy to find any document in less than a second. I shouldn't care that one part of a report is in my local folder, another part is on flash drive and some other part is written by another dude and is on a network server, but file system wants me to care of these irrelevant things. I can think of hundreds other examples where file system gets in the way of organization and productivity. Basically, it's not the best way to manage documents and media and it should be superseded by something entirely different. And IMHO for Apple moving forward is so principal that they are willing to reject archaic ways of doing some things even if it's currently the ONLY way of doing them. Now although a white iPhone version does not appeal to me just as the white iPad did not, I'm pretty sure my wife would love to exchange her black iPhone for a white one.
The release of this new color sure does concern me (as others have stated) as to the release of the iPhone 5. This has to spell doom for a summer release and possibly pushes it to the Christmas holiday time frame. :(

I for one think the Apple experience with iPhone 3GS which is still being sold at retail, will encourage them to privately have iPhone 4 have a 3 year product life.
What was so special about the 3GS's experience for Apple ? The iPhone 3G was sold at retail until mid-2010, just like the 3GS is still sold now in 2011.
This is just their motus operandi, last gen iPhone for 99$ in a 8GB format. If anything, the 3GS followed the same path as the 3G up to now and one would expect a 8 GB iPhone 4 to surface once they ship the iPhone 5.

Last time I checked you couldn't get an original wired mouse with any Mac purchase, only MM's.
I agree with the one person on here that said Apple should make a package deal, BT KB and BT MM for $99. I would buy one for my Power Mac G5 set up in a heartbeat! Apple can easily make a small box set of these for retail sale.

Why on earth would this happen? Why would they edit it to include the ix.Mac.MarketingName? I don't understand. Is there any logical explanation? I don't think it is a typo because I don't think Apple is stupid enough to edit it just in order to put a typo in. Weird.
Its humans at work - probably a human clicked a wrong button that added this thing with some placeholder name ... most likely means nothing or if anything than updated appleTV to run apps.
Universal MacOS/iOS apps just don't make sense (controlling the apps is just too different) and a apple branded TV makes no sense (appleTV does the trick for this and that way you don't have to buy an expensive TV to get the latest hardware - you just add it to the TV of your choice)

I'll only upgrade if this fixed the ****** animation glitches and battery drain. 4.3 h been a nightmare and the first update to it certainly didn't fix much. I'll wait for a report.
I agree with the animation glitches. For the 5 minutes I've had it on my iPhone (Did a restore, instead of upgrade), haven't noticed animation glitches like I did with 4.3 and 4.3.1, so I would say that it's a safe bet to upgrade it. Everything seems to be a lot more fluid this time around. Hope that helps. Enjoy!

Anti glare is not matt. The old imacs with matt screens were impossible to calibrate and had terrible issues with 'white-out'. The glass screens are a massive improvement and anyone with half a brain cell can sort their set up so that glare is a non issue.
I must be one of the lucky ones with a matte iMac 24" (zero problems) and its running on an SSD. I am looking for a decent Optical Drive replacement so I can use an SSD and 3TB HDD. The only noise emitted is the fan and I cannot control the speed to go any lower than :apple: default. :(

I have a 3GS. saw the update, downloaded and tried to extract/install. I just get "your device is not eligible for this build" and it quits. :confused:
