We have couple of threads covering it.
1. Copy of I485
2. Copy of both side of EAD (and for faster processing, upper part of mailer, in which EAD came)
3. Copy of Passport Photo page and last Visa Page (Serves as federal id)
4. Copy of DL (other id)
5. EAD filing receipt copy
In one or two business days, you may be able to see on line status and LUDs. Soon you should be receiving paper receipt followed by FP notice.
In case of E-Filing the EAD ,
1) I didnot understand why we have to send copy of DL and Passport photo page. The confirmation reciept clearly says "DO NOT mail photos or copies of identification unless requested to do so by USCIS."
Do you guys think, we have to send these two copies? I am confused now. Could you guys please advise.
2) Also when E-filing for myself and spouse, Is it ok, If I send both of our supporting documents in one package ? or is it better to send them separately.

logiclife, I am not sure whether we can file the 485 on our own with a letter from the employer. The letter from the employer is part of the "Initial Evidence" required to file the 485 petition. Here is a snippet from the immigration-law website talking about the importance of submitting the initial evidence at the time of filing. There is a high possibility that your I-485 petition will get denied(without an RFE) if you don't submit it without a letter from the employer.
06/17/2007: Flexible RFE/NOID Response Time Rule and Advisory for July EB-485 Filing
As we advised earlier, the USCIS published a new rule that allows the USCIS to have more discredtion and control over the two issues: One is shortening of the timeframe for responses to RFE from previous 12 weeks to any period of time which they see fit. The second rule is their authority to either reject or deny petitions or applications without issuing RFE where "initial evidence" is missing in the filing. Previously, the so-called Yates memo indirectly required the agency to avoid rejection and denial with a recommend to issue RFEs as much as possible. This part of the Yates memo is overridden by the new rule who took effect yesterday, June 16, 2007. It is thus likely that the Service Centers will more aggressively reject or deny the I-485 applications where the "initial evidence" are missing in the filing packet. It is thus very important that people understand the definition of "initial evidence." The initial evidence varies between the nonimmigrant and immigrant proceedings and for that matter, each type of proceedings. The immigration regulation lists in details the initial evidence. However, the instructions sheets to each petition or application lists the initial evidence that are required for filing. Accordingly, beginning from today, people may want to read the instruction sheet for I-485 form carefully to learn the list of initial evidence and not to miss omitting these evidence in filing I-485 applications.

So it is just like applying a new H1 visa, but include a copy of my current approved H1 visa and maybe some pay checks from my current employer?

Hi,
We sailed in the same boat.I did not get my fpnotice and my husband got.We called uscis and came to know that my appointment is scheduled on the same day and at same time along with my husband. So as per uscis customer representative's instructions,We took the xerox of the lawyer's copy of my fp notice and attended my scheduled fp y'day and everything went fine.Had i not called USCIS and enquire about my fp appointment,i would have missed the appointment waiting for the fp notice.
Iam not sure if u have attorney,so,First thing,u need to do is call USCIS and findout if ur wife is scheduled on the same day as urs and if it is on same day,she can attend the fp appointment along with u,as u anyways hold the good copy of urs.Thats what the customer rep told me.If USCIS had already mailed her Fp notice and u have not recieved yer, she needs to find her ASC notice number and code number from USCIS to attend the fingerprinting.

Please don't go with my above comment. That was in lighter mood. But what do you guys think about another round of Gandhigiri campaing?
Last one worked quite well. Kudos to those to made it success.

I think there was slight movement for EB3 for China and for Mexico. Now, most EB3 categories are the same PD as ROW. Except India.
(sigh).
I was really hoping ROW would move at least a little. This is very discouraging.

Hi YabaYaba,
Thanks for your kind advice. I tried to take Infopass now. Shockingly, no appointment is available for August and September. Is there any way that we can get emergency Infopass at Local office?
Thanks,
Raj

Transfer money to State Bank of India .
I agree. Diversify. Gold is another option.
BTW in a few days all banks will be undergoing stress test...
You would know where to put money.

Hi All,
Please let me know, based on your personal experience, Does Change of Address 'triggers' an RFE from USCIS????
I recently found a project (after many months) and am working for this new employer on EAD. However, I have not vacated my old apt....still paying rent and keeping it as my current one, and sharing accommodation with others in the new city where I am working....because of the only reason that I fear, which is an RFE.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
RFE shall not stop you from doing the right thing and as long as you have all the necessary documents and employment. If I were you, I would not hesitate to update my address and pay rent for my old apartment.

Dear All,
I was doing part -time school in a university and before they wanted to admit me,the university procedures included TB test. I showed positive in skin test and negative in X-ray about 4 months ago.
But the school procedures expected me to take TB tablets otherwise they wont let me register for courses. For the last 4 months I am on TB medication, I have it going on until october of this year.
Right now, I am in a dilemma. Since all our PD's our current, we need to get medical examination done. I don't know how my skin test is going to be since I am taking meds.
Should I inform my doctor that I am on medications or should I just hide it?
And should I take a letter from my school health department about how I don't have TB but been given medicines for School purposes? What should I do?
Please advise.

WHy should his greencard be pending after two years ? He should get it as soon as you get it. In your case, since you are a MULTINATIONAL MANAGER, you should get this in a few weeks.
If you work for companies that commit EB1 multinational manager fraud everyday such as Infosys, TCS, congizant, LT, Wipro, its very likely that your EB1 application will be rejected. USCIS is now aware of these frauds very well and they are cracking down on this very rigourously. I am sure in your case you must be having a bachelors degree (may not be in engineering) and you must have worked in the parent company for a few years and now moved to the US. There must be one software engineer reporting to you in India for a few months until your case is processed. This has been a recipe for disaster in the last few months but you can still try your luck.
If we don't stop this EB1C fraud completely by the MNCs for their so called managers, our EB3s will be the big loosers who are legally waiting for years and years having a very better qualifications and an experiances than any of the so called managers. This helps EB2 I & C to be current. Yes it will because every year we could expect about 25k spill over from EB1 itself. That helps for EB3s porting/spilling.

Hi,
Few months ago while googling about GC related stuff I came across a link, which, after going through few subsequent links, lead me to a link on the dol website from where I downloaded these databases. They are very huge (> 30 MB) so if you tell me (PM) you employer name and PD then I can look through the database and let you know the job title and code.
Thanks

Thanks so much for your reply. I think it will always a good idea to keep USCIS inform about your working condition since this is 'Employment based' case.
For AC21 I think I will need to match following:
1. New employment letter which should describe duties which 'must' be same or similar to what was mentioned in my labor certificate.
2. Start date/salary/position title
3. Any Benefits if provided.
Do I need any document from sposerer employer? Do I need anything else?
Thank you and I appriciate your help.

Hi,
I have received an EAD (I-140 Approved) for future employment through a company that I never worked for. Can I use AC21 to port the GC process to the current employer? Does the current employer need to file a new LC/140?
Please let me know. Thanks for your help.
I am assuming that your I 485 is pending for more than 180 days and I 140 is approved with an employer who you never worked for. You are working for different employer on EAD and want to use AC21 to continue working for that employer:
THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM.
When you never worked for GC sponsoring employer, USCIS can raise the question of actual existance of the job position ever. Burden of proof will fall on you and your GC sponsoring employer that "There was a position for real and it was offered to you and you intended to work indefinitely for that position upon approval of GC". This is difficult to prove if you NEVER worked for that position. This may become grounds for denial of 485 and also may create problems in future (at the time of naturalization).
I would advise you to get a good advise from a competent attorney (it is money worth spent). Starting a new GC process with the new employer may be a safer option, but it may mean several years. Another option is to wait for GC and then upon approval of GC work for the sponsoring employer for at least some time.
Good Luck.

If you have advance parole, check with your lawyer if you can use AP to come back. Now that you applied for stamping, AVR is out of question but AP is still an option.
I am going to Toronto next month and was thinking of getting my visa stamped, but after hearing few horror stories, I am inclined towards using AVR or AP to come back.

May I know on what basis you are recommending this. Do you have any legal basis.?
What do you mean by legal basis. He agreed to pay $2 to company A (in email) until the project ends. If this is correct, he should continue paying $2 to company A. Since the OP stopped paying $2 , company A wants to make sure that the project ended.
Ofcourse, Since thee is no contract or agreement between company A and OP, no need to pay $2. But that is not fair on his part. Company A is not asking for 25-40% from billing, He just asked for $2 per hour.
